Setting goals for yourself is one very important way to get you to a successful career. Short term goals, and long term goals are all apart of that. Short term goals are steps that move you closer to a long term goal. This type of goal may only last a few hours, or a few days. Although it could take weeks or months, it all depends on what your goal is. For example, if you set a goal to loose 30 pounds in 6 months, your short term goals could include eating healthy on a daily basis and exercising a certain number of times a week.

Long term goals are things you set for yourself to accomplish six months to a year from now. You visualize and imagine these goals, but they're still too far away for you to touch. Knowing yourself and what is important to you is important when setting this type of goal.  If you set a long term goal for yourself to become a nurse, you should make yourself a list. And by using short term goals, like enrolling in nursing school, studying as much as needed, and keeping up with school work, you will eventually be able to reach the long term goal of being a nurse. Goals are very important because you need something to works towards if you want to achieve things in your life. And if you work for your goals you will have a successful career one day.
